5.12.2013 STABILITY OF TWO ANTIBIOTICS IN SOIL
At the University of Nova Gorica was carried out an experiment with primary school from Šempas. They had four columns of polypropylene pipes. Two were filled with soil from Log pod Mangartom and two of them with soil from Šempeter in Nova Gorica. Previously all columns were filled with water, in order to displace air bubbles from the soil. Schoolchildren are filled each column with 0.5 L of the antibiotic. In each of the various columns are filling up the solution of ciprofloxacin with a final concentration of 22.5 mg/L and a solution of sulfamethoxazole with a final concentration of 200 mg/L. Finally, the collected leachate liquid filtered, and the absorbance was measured with UV-VIS spectrophotometer.
